For decades, more than 17,000 people have vanished in Lebanon, taking answers, closure, and entire futures with them. As years passed and media attention faded, families were left suspended between hope and grief, unheard and unseen. So when silence became the greatest injustice, we turned absence itself into a message. On Human Rights Day, during Lebanon’s most watched news bulletin, the anchors disappeared live on air, leaving only their voices behind. A brief moment of confusion mirrored a lifetime of waiting, forcing a nation to feel what thousands of families live every day. Because when people go missing, awareness shouldn’t disappear with them.
