When the fourth largest non-nuclear explosion in history tore through Beirut, it didn’t just shatter 7,000 tons of glass. It shattered lives, homes, livelihoods, hopes and dreams. Nearly a year later, the truth was still buried, and the very people meant to deliver justice were implicated in the crime. So when the system broke the people, we refused to let it break the truth. Calling on the fourth power, the media, we transformed glass from the blast itself into haunting portraits of the victims and broke it once more on national television. Because when they broke a city’s hopes and futures, we broke more glass to make sure the truth could not be ignored.
